BEHAVIOUR LED.


It means knowing the half-second before a horse's ears come forward, not just when they do, and knowing how to coax them forward naturally, without spooking them. Setting you both up for success by guiding you into position before a moment happens, so their movement becomes part of the shot. It means working with whatever the day brings, a sudden distraction or unexpected change, rather than waiting for one perfect pose to arrive. Knowing when a horse has had enough, or how to reset them mid-session, always ending things positively, for your horse, not just for you. Even the black background work is shot using natural light, wherever we are.

I'm Emily Prouse, and that's Kingsley beside me.


Caletto is named after my first horse, who taught me that reading a horse will always matter more than posing one. From yard companions to Grand Prix contenders, my approach stays the same.



Since having my daughter, I am determined not to miss the moments in front of me.

You made a very hard, painful time bearable by photographing her at my home and this dream come true will be etched in my memories. "I was desperate to get some photos of my foal Cayla before she grew. I thought it would be a challenge with young foals being unpredictable but wow I needn’t have worried. The photos were way beyond anything I imagined and I have the most wonderful memories captured. Emily was brilliant she had so much patience and a real understanding of the horses. Emily made the whole experience so fun and we had the best time. The hardest part was choosing my favourite photos as there were so many wonderful captures"
